Girl is third UK swine flu death

A girl from Birmingham who tested positive for swine flu has died while being treated at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The girl, whose family do not want her to be identified, was known to have other serious health problems.

Dr Helen Carter of NHS West Midlands said more than 500 new cases had been confirmed in the West Midlands on Monday, but it was important to remember most swine flu cases were mild.
