For the first time in Britain, a patient suffering from swine flu has died.
The Scottish government has confirmed that the patient had underlying health issues.
Scotland's Health Secretary, Nicola Sturgeon, called the death "tragic" but emphasised that the risk to the public from the H1N1 virus was still low.
The BBC's Lorna Gordon reports from Glasgow.
