 A working party has been looking at childcare in the island |
Jersey's Education Minister has propsed that children aged three and four should get 20 hours of free childcare for 38 weeks each year. In a report on childcare provision, Senator Mike Vibert said he would be taking the proposal to the Council of Ministers next year.
In August a working party was set up to look at the issue of childcare and has now released a progress report.
The proposals are expected to cost in the region �1.5m.
Senator Vibert said he would also consider charging for nursery places and the introduction of means testing for places.
