Islanders object to housing plans
Opposition is mounting against plans to build a housing development for elderly people in Jersey.

A developer wants to build 40 homes for people over the age of 55 on two fields opposite an existing estate on La Route du Nord in St John.

But some residents say the houses encroach into the restricted green zone, in breach of the island plan.

The Constable of St John is holding a meeting at the parish hall on Wednesday night to discuss the plans.
