Planners mull development ideas
The owner of a sports centre in Jersey is asking to be allowed to build three houses, self-catering units and a new clubhouse on land nearby.

The planning authorities are considering the plans for St Clement's Golf and Sports Centre.

The proposals include three houses, each with three bedrooms, and 10 self-catering flats.

It is anticipated the flats would be used by holidaymakers and members of visiting sports teams.

Meanwhile, the houses would be built on the site of the existing clubhouse and adjoining land.

The proposal is part of an on-going programme of refurbishment of the facilities in St Clement.

The golf course is presently being expanded and the club house needs replacing.
