Long serving deputy stepping down
Jersey's longest serving deputy has announced he is to step down at the next election.

David Crespel, who is 73, has sat in the States for the past 15 years and has represented Trinity for the past nine years.

Before that he was a deputy in St Helier Number One.

He is currently vice-president of the Housing Committee and a member of the Finance and Economics Committee. He says he is looking forward to a rest.

Deputy Crespel says the role of a States Member has become full time and he feels 15 years is long enough.

He will step down after the Deputies' Election in November.
