Newspaper plea for foster carers
Jersey's Children's Service is profiling children who need foster carers in the local newspaper.

It is part of a new, more direct, approach to finding more carers and families who can adopt in Jersey as well as in Guernsey.

The newspaper notices include details such as the child's likes and dislikes as well as their personality and any special health care needs.

No real names are used to protect the child's identity.

One notice has been put out so far, asking families in Jersey to come forward to care for a five-year-old girl in care in Guernsey.

The Children's Service is also looking for families who could look after more than one child so that brothers and sisters can be placed together.
