The Brook Advisory Centre was set up on the island 10 years ago to give young people information on family planning.

During the first year it helped just 100 young people in total, but now over 1,200 use the service every year.

But there are concerns some of the services the centre runs may have to be cut back because of a reduction in States funding.

Other services in the United Kingdom have already been affected by cuts and have had to reduce their staff numbers, limit the number of clinics and shorten the hours they are open.

The centre's manager in Jersey, Bronia Lever, says that since it opened it has dealt with fewer teenage pregnancies, but the number of sexually transmitted diseases has increased.
