Fundraising launched for church
Fundraising to help restore a church in Jersey officially began on Sunday when the Lieutenant Governor opens the gardens at Government House.

Fundraisers have already gathered 230,000 towards the overall costs of St Thomas Roman Catholic Church.

There are plans to restore the central aisle and install a sound and lighting system as part of the proposals to refurbish the inside of the building.

Campaigners hope to raise a total of 500,000 for the works.
