States agrees income support law
Jersey States members have agreed to introduce a new system of income support in the island.

Under the plans, 12 different benefits will be abolished and replaced with one single payment.

The new law also allows people with bank accounts in Jersey to pay tax either in the island or their country of residence.

Forty-three states members voted in favour to four against the proposals for the new system.
