Some residents fear the garden may attract too many visitors |
Plans to restore Jersey's internationally-important gardens at Chateau la Chaire are causing concern. Some residents in Rozel fear the area may not be able to cope with the extra tourists and traffic and say there will not be enough room for facilities.
They are setting up a focus group to discuss their concerns.
But the Jersey Hospitality Association, which is behind the restoration proposals, says the site is of international significance.

The Victorian gardens were designed by horticulturalist Samuel Curtis. They were pillaged by German troops during the occupation.
A spokeswoman for Jersey Hospitality Association, Angie Petkovic, said: "Yes it's true things might change, but at the end of the day we've got to bear in mind this is a really important site.
"It's special. I know Jersey doesn't rate it at the same level, but around the world it's considered to be extremely special."
