Islanders urged to re-home a dog
A Guernsey animal rescue centre is looking to Jersey residents for help with its stray dog population.

Guernsey Animal Aid has a number of dogs in need of a home.

They are usually found homes in Guernsey but the charity has seen a demand for dogs from Jersey too and have sent some over to the island.

Chairman Sue Vidamour says the success rate in re-homing there has been good and is now hoping more potential owners come forward from Jersey.

"We're looking for people willing to take on a rescue dog," she said.

"They have got to have plenty of time to give the dog and a secure garden and that's all it takes," she added.

"The dogs adapt very well to new owners."
