Residents are worried about bikes damaging the countryside |
Concerns are being raised over plans put forward to build a quad biking course in Jersey. The proposed site, in fields in St Ouen, has sparked objections from several nearby residents over noise and other possible developments.
The site at La Rue de la Gabourellerie is in an island "green zone" and has been described as being in an "area of outstanding character".
The planning authorities are currently considering the proposals.
Although the fields do not back onto homes, people are anxious about the damage the bikes could cause to the countryside and how noisy it could become.
Some also say more thought needs to go into the way the countryside is used and they are worried it would encourage more fields to be developed for commercial use.
