Hang up on pre-recorded message
Telephone
Residents called 1471 but the number had been witheld
Islanders who receive a pre-recorded message phone call telling them they have won a holiday are being advised by Jersey Telecom to hang up.

Dozens of callers to BBC Jersey's phone-in programme said they had received such a call.

They described the call as a pre-recorded message telling them they had won a holiday and to press nine for more details.

When some of them called 1471 to find out who was calling they were told the number had been withheld.
