Reservoirs 'fuller than normal'
Jersey's reservoirs have had more water in them this summer than ever before according to latest figures.

At the moment the reservoirs are more than 75% full, but at the end of August water levels were up to more than 80%.

August 2003 was the third driest month on record since records first began but this summer the weather has been less predictable.

Howard Snowden, managing director of the Waterworks Company, said it meant the reservoirs were fuller than normal.

He said the levels were also higher because of a lower demand for water in gardens and the water level is now adequate for the rest of the year.
