Search for original island flag

Organisers of the liberation celebrations in Jersey are looking for an original Jersey flag - one without the islands crest on top.

Owen Wiscombe has been asked to recreate the flag which was raised on top of the tourism building in 1945 for this years celebrations and that did not have the crest.

Anyone who has a suitable flag has been asked to contact the celebration organisers.

The other was slightly shorter, about 26 with fair hair and was wearing a beige pullover and dark woollen cap.

Attack witnesses sought

Jersey Police are appealing for information after a serious assault left a man with a broken wrist and cheekbone.

The alleged assault took place at about 1900 on Saturday at the former Le Geyt Flats, now known as St Marks Gate.

The victim was taken to the accident and emergency department of the General Hospital, but was later released.

Anyone with any information should contact Jersey police.

The charge for connection to the Jersey's foul sewer system is to treble.

The Environment and Pubic Services Committee is dropping the subsidy scheme, but households will have three months before the charge goes up.
