Vantage point to watch wildlife
Bottlenose dolphin
Jersey's south east coast is a good place to spot dolphins and seals
A new vantage point for wildlife enthusiasts in Jersey to watch dolphins and seals has been set up.

The viewing platform at Caesar's Fort at Mont Orgueil Castle has views to St Catherine's breakwater in one direction and La Rocque in the other.

The idea of building a platform came from the zoology department of the Societe Jersiaise.

It comes as the island's environment authorities are encouraging people to report marine mammal sightings.

They want to build a picture of Jersey's marine life populations which will affect decisions made about conservation issues.

The south east of Jersey's coast has always been a good place to see Atlantic grey seals and bottlenose dolphins.
