The parish wants to borrow money from the States for the project
People in the Jersey parish of St Saviour are being asked to give the final go-ahead to provide a purpose-built community centre.

More than 70 parishioners and representatives of interested parties gave their unanimous support to the proposals at a recent public meeting.

It is for residents of Clos Gosset, Grasset Park and Gorden Le Breton Close and is being built by the Jack Falle Foundation.

Parishioners have been asked to join a management committee to run the centre.

The parish still needs 950,000 for the development and is proposing to borrow the cash from the States.

Funding to complete the building work and fit out the centre is expected to be agreed by the parish assembly on Thursday night.
