All of Jersey's 15 bathing waters tested passed the EU standard |
Jersey's top tourist beach could get back into the Good Beach Guide.St Brelade's Bay failed to meet the standards set by the Marine Conservation Society last year.
But now it has passed this year's EU standard tests which will be used by the guide.
The bay has passed the EU imperative standard and the guide standard - which is 20 times more stringent.
It did not pass either test last year.
Gerry Jackson, who is responsible for Jersey's water quality, says that was because of run-offs from the land after heavy rainfall.
But he is hopeful the bay will get back in the guide this year.
All of Jersey's 15 bathing waters tested passed the EU imperative standard, with 11 of them making the guide level.
