Bus service on States agenda
Jersey bus
Connex was awarded the bus contract more than a year ago
The man in charge of public transport in Jersey faces a record-breaking number of questions in the States over his handling of the island's bus service.

Deputy Maurice Dubras will be asked to explain how Connex was awarded the contract and to justify comments he made to the States last year on the subject.

Connex was awarded the bus contract more than a year ago, defeating the existing operator Jersey Bus.

But later there was a dispute over whether Connex and the committee had been told about a pay rise agreed for workers at the company.

Senator Ted Vibert has been a continued critic of the way Deputy Dubras and his committee handled the issue.

He has tabled 18 questions for the president to answer in the House, and has threatened to bring a vote of no confidence if he is unhappy with the answers.

It is just one of the issues to be covered in a States sitting dominated by question time.
