Catholic dean returns to island
Canon Nicholas France
Canon France was treated at a London hospital
Jersey's Roman Catholic Dean has returned to the island having undergone treatment for prostate cancer.

Canon Nicholas France was diagnosed with the condition in October.

Canon France left the island on 1 December for treatment at a London hospital, where he underwent an operation to remove his prostate.

The cancer was discovered by the vigilance of his GP in Jersey.

He has now returned home to Jersey where he will undertake a period of rest and recuperation before returning to his pastoral duties in the New Year.

He is asking Roman Catholics in Jersey to think of him in their prayers.

In his absence from work, the Roman Catholic Deanery of Jersey is being led by Father Michael Marett-Crosby.
