Planning for Jersey's future
The next stage of a public consultation exercise over the future of Jersey and its administration will happen on Friday.

Senior politicians will begin the process of shaping some of the thoughts and views of islanders, which came out of the Imagine Jersey sessions, into proposals.

These will then go back to the public for further consideration.

The Imagine Jersey project was a series of public discussions about what the future holds for the island.

The final ideas will eventually be combined with other studies to formulate a long-term plan for Jersey's future.

About 300 people attended an Imagine Jersey on 8 and 9 November, which was organised by the Policy and Resources Committee at the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society in Trinity.

And in the next fortnight the results of a so-called benchmarking exercise should also give islanders an idea of just how good or bad - and how cost effective - public services are in Jersey compared to local authorities in the UK.
