Funeral for TT race crash rider

John Crellin
John Crellin was an experienced TT competitor

The funeral of motorcyclist John Crellin, who was killed in an accident during the Senior TT race in the Isle of Man, has taken place.

Mr Crellin was a civil engineer from the island and crashed at the Mountain Box section, on the final lap of the Manx TT races, on 12 June.

Just a few hours earlier, he had been on the podium after a third place finish in the inaugural TTXGP race.

A requiem mass was held at St Mary's Church in Douglas.

The official TT website described Mr Crellin as an experienced competitor who had also taken part in Manx Grand Prix events.

It is believed Mr Crellin was the only rider involved in the accident.
