Weather disrupts runway upgrade

Poor weather has disrupted building work on the runway extension project at the Isle of Man airport.

Strong winds and stormy seas have delayed the off-loading of giant rock armour being shipped from Norway to Ronaldsway Airport in Ballasalla.

The current works form part of a construction project valued at nearly £44m and should be completed by the end of the year.

An airport spokeswoman said the current works had overrun by 10 days.
