Village housing plans go on show
Plans for a housing development which the government hopes could breathe new life into an area of the Isle of Man are to be unveiled.

Treasury approval has been given for the transformation of 20 acres of ex-Ministry of Defence (MoD) land into a "sustainable village" in Jurby.

The project would see more than 100 new homes and community facilities built.

The Department of Local Government and the Environment will exhibit its plans at the village hall from 18 October.

Ramsey MHK Anne Craine, who is a member of the department, said: "I hope people will support the proposals which offer great opportunities for local people and potential new residents and will help to transform Jurby's wartime legacy into a village with a great future."
