Class A drugs seizures increase
Cocaine
More cocaine and heroin has been seized
Police have seized more class A drugs in the Isle of Man than in previous years, the constabulary has said.

The amount of heroin seized in 2004-5 was 11g, compared with 354g for 2005-6, Chief Constable Mike Culverhouse said in his annual report.

Cocaine seizures have also gone up by well over 200g, and the street value of the drugs has more than doubled.

Mr Culverhouse added that the force's efforts to tackle the drug scene had been "positive".

"Latterly we've seen cocaine feature, and we've seen it in the UK, so it's only a question of time before it comes over here," he said.
