A fish which is normally found in the warmer waters of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic has been caught off the Isle of Man. The triggerfish - also known as a leatherback or donkey fish - was caught by Norman Sansbury, for Tim Croft of Seafare in Port St Mary.
The fish have thick skin, sharp teeth and "trigger" fins which make them a tricky catch for their predators.
It was bought by David Buttery from Tanroagan's restaurant in Douglas.
He said it was the first, and quite possibly the only, time it had appeared in the restaurant.
It is thought to be the first time the fish has been found in Manx waters.
