Warning over counterfeit trading
Quad bike
Quad bikes are among the fake goods, the government said
People on the Isle of Man are being warned about a group of traders who are selling counterfeit goods.

The Office of Fair Trading said it had found gangs of up to 30 people from the travelling community selling their goods without licences.

Chief Officer Ken Kinrade said the group had been selling fake goods including video cameras, generators and even quad bikes.

He said the problem appeared to be becoming more acute.

"In one case earlier this year we had about 13 different vehicles arrive with over 30 individuals behind the wheels," he said.

"This week there were 13 individuals operating out of about three or four Northern Irish or Southern Irish vans, and even then hired local vehicles to spread the goods all around the island."
