The leaflets are aimed at boat users and ship passengers

Posters and advice leaflets about swine flu have been placed at all ports in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Port authorities met with health staff and agreed to provide the advice for boat users and ship passengers.

Director of Public Health Dr Stephen Bridgman said people who had symptoms within seven days of visiting affected areas should seek medical advice.

He added that islanders should follow travel advice from the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

There are no known cases of the disease in the islands.

There are 10 confirmed cases of the virus in the UK.

They include a 12-year-old girl who is a student at Paignton Community College in Devon.
