Guernsey ferry company HD Ferries has cancelled all its sailings in and out of the island on Monday following rumours of a possible wildcat strike. Public service workers are threatening unofficial strike action following the collapse of negotiations with the Public Sector Remuneration Committee. The dispute involves about 1,000 States employees - including hospital porters, harbour attendants and road sweepers. Unite rejected a 3% offer. Members want 3% plus the rate of inflation. The two parties have failed to reach an agreement after more than six months of talks, and the industrial disputes officer has been called in to try to broker a deal. HD Ferries' operations manager Shawn Homer is urging people due to travel on Monday to contact the company.
