Brothers petition over Sark plans
The Barclay brothers
The Barclay brothers have concerns with the current constitution plans
The Barclay Brothers are threatening to send a petition to the UK government asking them not to approve Sark's new constitution plans.

The Chief Pleas has agreed on how to reform the government, but still need UK Privy Council approval.

Members have opted for a transitional system of universal suffrage with 16 elected deputies and 12 tenants.

Sir David and Frederick Barclay say they intend to present the petition unless several concerns are addressed.

Deputy Paul Armorgie says Chief Pleas will discuss the matter later this month.

The reclusive Barclay brothers, Sir David and Sir Frederick, are the richest people in the Channel Islands.
