Arson suspected in fifth attack
A greenhouse unit has been damaged in the fifth suspected arson attack on Guernsey in two weeks.

It is believed to have started with a rubbish fire that spread, causing minor damage to the commercial storage unit in St Sampson.

The fire on Thursday night follows a series of arson attacks and vandalism in the island's parish of St Martin carried out since 10 April.

Police are investigating whether the same people are responsible.

Fires have been started in St Martin's in a derelict house, a garden shed and two vehicles, a tractor and an estate car.

Property lights and traffic mirrors have also been damaged and spray-paint graffiti daubed on houses and signs in the area.

Andrew Major, the island's fire safety manager, has warned that someone could be seriously hurt if the situation is not brought under control.
