George Le Page says crime in Guernsey is under control |
Guernsey's Chief of Police believes crime is not on the increase on the island, despite two armed robberies in recent weeks. George Le Page claims, although his force is understaffed, they are tackling crime effectively.
He maintains the situation should be kept in perspective and that crime was low compared to other force areas.
"We are striving to reduce crime even more, but the community itself has to assist," he said.
Mr Le Page's was speaking following two armed robberies on stores in St Peter Port.
No one has been arrested in connection with either offence and the Police Chief admits the island still experiences a few incidents of serious crime.
