Some Bailiwick companies have received telephone calls from the UK by someone claiming that a company is looking for advertisers for a new publication.

The caller claimed to have the backing of States departments and the Drug Concern group.

However, Guernsey Police said this was not true, that businesses should take steps to protect themselves and not agree to hand over any money.
