Randalls is the island's only producing brewery
A brewery in Guernsey is celebrating after winning a major contract to supply ale to one of the UK's biggest supermarket names.

The Tesco chain will now sell Cynful, made by Randalls, at more than 250 of its stores.

There has also been interest from Sweden and Italy in the brew, described as a dark, subtly sweet ale.

Paddy Randall, the company's managing director, said it was an exciting time for the business.

He said: "First of all Cynful won the Tesco Beer Challenge, now Tesco has given us a permanent contract and we're in major discussions with some of the biggest retail and wholesale chains in the UK.

"There has even been European interest coming from Sweden and Italy."

Randalls, the island's only producing brewery, recently invested in a state-of-the-art 500,000 new packing plant and now has the capability to produce 32,000 bottles a day or 250,000 bottles a week.
