Aids treatment is 'underfunded'
HIV cells
There are 17 known HIV/Aids cases on the island
The doctor in charge of Guernsey's sexual health clinic says the service is underfunded.

Dr Nick King says provision for HIV and Aids treatment is a long way behind what is needed.

The island has three patients with the disease Aids and 14 other people are known to be HIV positive.

Health Minister Peter Roffey said he was aware of the situation and that he would like to do more, but there was only so much money to go round.

Although there are 17 people on the island with the virus, Dr King said he believed there were others who were infected but not aware of the condition.
