The young people are all victims of Chernobyl's nuclear disaster |
A Guernsey school is playing host to a group of children who are visiting the island from Chernobyl on Friday. The trip is part of an annual visit organised by the Chernobyl Children Lifeline Guernsey Link.
During their month-long holiday, the group of boys and girls will take part in a full programme of events, including school visits and beach days.
The children are all victims of the nuclear fall-out from the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.
Fresh air
The Chernobyl plant was the scene of the world's worst civilian nuclear accident in April 1986, when its number four reactor exploded.
The young people have made the annual trip to the Bailiwick from Belarus since 1993.
The emphasis of the holiday is for the children to have a relaxing and fun month with fresh air and good food.
On Friday the group will visit St Peter Port School.
