Recruit problem for island force
A senior Guernsey policeman is blaming the current shortage of officers on difficulties in recruitment.

Peter Dowding has recently been appointed Chief Inspector of Police Operations.

He says, as employers, the Guernsey Police Force has to compete with higher-paying industries in the island such as finance.

In an attempt to tackle the problem the force is currently looking to recruit some officers from the UK.
