Hustings attracts large turn-out
Ballot box
Interest in the election appears to be higher than in recent years
Politicians say public interest in next week's Guernsey General Election remains strong, judging by the ongoing success of the district hustings.

Hundreds of people turned up to quiz candidates in the St Sampsons and Castel districts on Wednesday night.

The Castel enjoyed one of its liveliest meetings in recent years, as a series of questions were aimed at the panel.

Chairman of the St Sampsons meeting, Alison Brouard, said the meeting was well attended.

Informal discussion

She said interest in the election seemed to be higher than in previous years.

The spotlight falls on candidates in the South East and St Peter Port North areas of Guernsey on Thursday night.

Residents in St Martins and St Andrews can hear from their political hopefuls at St Martins School from 1900 GMT.

Voters in St Peter Port North can take advantage of an informal discussion hour from 1830 GMT at Beau Sejour, ahead of the main meeting at 1945 GMT.
