The charity wants to employ five more members of staff
A Guernsey charity is seeking to employ more staff to help tackle homelessness among young people in the island.

The National Children's Home Youth Housing Project wants to take on five new members of staff.

The charity is aiming to recruit four project workers, including one who will work on its drug strategy, and an administration co-ordinator.

The new staff will assist young people, primarily between the ages of 16 and 21, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Project manager Shane de Carteret said the successful candidates would need the ability to pass on their knowledge, experience and support without appearing patronising to homeless people as they tried to cope with the challenges they faced.
