Tree recycling urged
Guernsey islanders are being offered an environmentally friendly way to dispose of Christmas trees.

Guernsey's Board of Administration is collecting the festive plants in Burnt Lane, where they will be shredded.

The resulting mulch will then be used to treat plants in the island's public parks and gardens which like acidic soil.

Last year more than 3,000 trees were collected and the Board is hoping to improve on that this year.

The recycling facility is open until 11 January.
