Dairy hopes flavour will be a scoop
Xmas pud
Big Chill: The inspiration for the new flavour
The Guernsey Dairy thinks it has come up with a way of providing a traditional Christmas taste in a new form for Channel Islanders.

The company is making a new Christmas pudding ice cream.

The company's managing director, Chris Hall, says he got idea at a trade show.

He says he feels it will become popular and that the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

Exports considered

He said: "As we were drawing towards Christmas and planning what we were going to be doing this year, we thought why don't we do a Christmas pudding flavour ice-cream.

"I asked the rest of the lads if can we do it. They said it was worth a go.

"We got the ingredients, made it up and we think it's lovely."

It will only be available in Guernsey for a limited time. But the dairy says if it is popular, it may consider exporting it in future years.
