State funeral for Polish president

Tens of thousands of grieving Poles packed Krakow for the burial of President Lech Kaczynski and his wife.

The couple were buried in Wawel Cathedral, the resting place of kings and national heroes.

Europe's air travel crisis meant many world leaders were unable to attend.

However, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev managed to fly to the city, continuing the show solidarity that has developed between the countries since the plane crash in Russia that killed the couple and 94 others.
