Karadzic absent as trial starts

Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic has not appeared at his war crimes trial.

He is being tried on 11 charges including genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Mr Karadzic denies the charges, which relate to the Bosnian war of the 1990s.

Presiding judge O-Gon Kwon addressed the court as proceedings began.
