Nato military chiefs have been meeting in Portugal to discuss operations in Afghanistan and elsewhere, and to provide input into the New Strategic Concept that Nato is seeking to develop.
They welcomed signs that Russia is responding positively to recent overtures by Nato, and endorsed plans to invest more in local security forces in Afghanistan.
