The Nato Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, has called for a new relationship with Moscow and cooperation over missile defence, nuclear proliferation and counter terrorism.
He used his first major foreign policy address as Nato's chief to called for a "joint review" with Moscow of global security challenges.
He spoke to Shaun Ley on Radio 4's The World At One about how he sees links with Russia developing.
