German plan to shape up banks

The German government says it is nearing a solution for dealing with banks' toxic assets and that it expects to have a firm plan in place by the summer.

Banks across Germany are being weighed down by billions of euros in toxic assets, which are hindering the lending activity in Europe's largest economy.
