Putin gets tiger cub for birthday

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has been introducing a tiger cub he was given as a 56th birthday present.

Mr Putin said he had not decided on a name for the female cub, but may call her Mashenka, a short form of Maria or Milashka, which means ''sweetie.''

He did not reveal the name of the person who presented the cub to him as a present.

The young tiger will live in a zoo.
