French mark 60 years of the 2CV

Built for economy not speed, the Deux Chevaux or 2 CV car celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

Aimed at farmers and intended to replace the horse and cart it was nicknamed the 'Two Horses' because it slipped into the so named low taxation category.

Its economic concept meant it was affordable to many ordinary people and it quickly became associated with picnics, holidays and good times.

Emma Jane Kirby went for a ride in one around Paris.
