The British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, has announced that a permanent memorial to Diana, Princess of Wales, is to be built.
A fountain is to be erected in one of London's Royal Parks in honour of Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in Paris two years ago.
Tabloid newspapers in Britain have been running a campaign calling for the memorial to be built.
The Princess's mother Frances Shand-Kydd and brother Earl Spencer have both welcomed the announcement. The government says it will consult the Princess's family on the details.
